I had a mixed experience staying at Gulf Hotel in Mumbai. The location is absolutely fantastic, close to Gate of India and with plenty of halal restaurants nearby. However, the room felt cramped and the wifi was frustrating. Also, I encountered rude behavior from the cafeteria staff during breakfast hours which added to my disappointment.
